Health Benefits of Matcha

Recently I have become obsessed with matcha powder, I have always loved green tea but when I found out there was a purer form of this which many more health benefits, I had to have it. I started drinking matcha lattes at my local teashop Amanzi on New Cavendish Street and as soon as I bought my powder from Tea Pigs I made my first green latte.

The health benefits of match powder are amazing and it exceeds those of green tea because you ingest the whole leaf and not just bits of it brewed in water. One glass of matcha has the nutritional value and antioxidant content of 10 glasses of green tea. It also flights cancer and is a natural fat burner.

It is a super food that contains amino acids and natural caffeine that work together to keep your energy going. Matcha comes from Japan and has been drunk there for centuries. Even Monks drink it to keep up their performance, concentration and immune system. 

How to make a matcha latte

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon matcha powder

1/4 cup boiling water

3/4 cup Vanilla flavoured almond milk

Directions:

Bring enough water to a boil for the amount of servings you are making. Whisk 1 teaspoon of matcha powder per serving with 1/4 cup boiling water. Once powder is dissolved into water, mix in the almond milk. Sweeten to taste with honey or agave.
