I’d heard a lot about Heartcore before I signed up for my first class – the main thing being that they are the toughest of all reformer pilates classes around! I was feeling particularly bold so opted for the regular Pilates class instead of the Basics class. I’ve done about 20 reformer pilates classes before, but I’m still working on my core strength so I knew the class was going to be a bit of a challenge for me. Heartcore offers you your first class for free so there’s really no excuse not to try it at least once.
My first class was at their studio in Hampstead. It’s right next to Hampstead tube station and in a lovely exposed-brick, loft style room. They’ve just installed some new reformer machines which are amazing! They’re extra padded which make the whole experience feel quite luxe even during your most agonising leg raises. My instructor was great – she really pushed me to work my hardest but was also quick to adjust the springs to match my abilities (or lack thereof). It was a really well rounded workout with a great playlist too, which I always need to keep me going. I swear my ab lines were more defined after just one hour! I also couldn’t walk the next day…
I enjoyed the class so much that I booked in for another free class at their brand new Fulham studio. This time the class was taught by the founder, Jess, herself. She was really motivating and kept pushing us to “Chisel, chisel, chisel!”. Honestly, it was the best reformer pilates class I’ve ever tried. Book one right before your beach holiday - you can’t afford to give it a miss.
Classes at Heartcore are priced at £27 but as we’ve mentioned your first class is free! They’re also offering free classes at their Fulham studio until the end of the month so hurry before all the spots are taken!
