We’ve wanted to try the beautiful food from Detox Kitchen for sometime now, but could never quite commit to their 5-day minimum delivery order for meal packages. Luckily for us, they’ve recently opened a deli in Soho, so we of course had to go down to give it a try.
The Detox Kitchen Deli is on Kingly Street, in between Carnaby Street and Regent Street. Their sign is quite small so look out for an all-white shop front with big glass windows. The décor fits the food perfectly – clean, white and fresh with pretty flower arrangements placed on all the wooden tables. We arrived a bit late, around 2:30pm for lunch. The menu written on the chalkboard looked quite extensive but unfortunately most of the dishes were sold out by the time we got there. They have a long list of salads, which can be further topped with chicken breast, aubergine, tuna steak and various other options. Their salads are displayed on large flattop platters on the counter so you can see exactly what you’re getting. We shared a large salad portion but decided to split our generous plate with the two remaining options - quinoa, edamame and pomegranate and brown rice, butternut squash and kale. The fresh juices were delicious and we polished of our salads quite quickly. It’s a bit pricey for your everyday work lunch (our meal cost £22) but you can’t beat it for freshness. The place has a great feel-good factor; you just know you’re consuming goodness. We’ll be back soon to sample the rest of the menu!
