Last night I tried my first ever TRX class at Paola’s Body Barre in Fulham. Shaleena and I tried one of Paola’s signature barre classes a few months ago at a promotional event at Space NK (here's our blog post on it). I’d been searching for a good TRX class in London to try for a while, so was excited to see that Paola offered one of her own as I’ve been meaning to visit her studio.

I hadn’t worked out in a week so I was getting quite nervous before the class. The name of the class ‘TRX Core’ even started to sound a bit ominous…Luckily when the class began, I realised that everyone else was at a similar fitness level to me. The TRX equipment is also fairly simple to use. Our instructor, Paddy, gave us demonstration before each set of repetitions. Within the class, we split ourselves up into two groups. One would do mat work while the other used the TRX and then we’d swap over. It was a full body workout. On the mat we did deadlifts, bicycle crunches, mountain climber plank, side plank and burpees. Using the TRX we did pistol squats, squat jumps, one legged lunges and oblique twists. I left feeling the burning sensation all over!

The studio itself is lovely with high ceilings and a skylight. We’re actually holding our photoshoot there next week! There is a large range of classes available, which include Power Yoga, Dynamic Pilates and of course the signature Barre classes with Paola herself. At the moment they’re offering a great promotion - £40 for unlimited classes for a month, otherwise, classes are priced at £22.
