Roullete is a game of chance played by placing chips on a roulette table and hoping to predict where the ball will land. The game has many bet types and is available at most casinos. The Roulette Wheel
A roulette wheel is a static device with numbers randomized around its perimeter, and a spinning bowl in the center. The numbering starts in the innermost circle and alternates between red and black, and odd and even. There is a single green division labeled 0 on European tables, and an additional green division labelled 00 on American ones (this extra green segment gives the house its edge over the player).
Before the wheel is spun, players place their chips on the table, where the location correlates with what they’re betting on. The croupier then announces “no more bets,” which signifies that the betting is closed and the spin will soon start. The dealer will pause for a little while to give players time to wrap up their bets, and then the roulette ball will drop into the wheel.
After the ball lands, the table will clear, winners will be paid, and the next round begins. There are many ways to play roulette, and some systems claim to be able to beat the odds. However, there is no guarantee that the wheel will be rigged or that any betting system can provide a long-term advantage.
Roulette Strategy
The basic strategy in roulette is to play outside bets and inside bets with equal chances of winning. Outside bets include bets on individual numbers, groupings of numbers, color (red or black), and whether the number is odd or even. Inside bets include bets on the zero, two or three consecutive numbers, and the high or low numbers (1-18 or 19-36). The symmetries of the roulette wheel make these bets relatively safe and easy to make.
